Description
FRZ MTF Stochastic Indicator for MT4 & MT5
This is a multi timeframe Stochastic indicator. With the default MetaTrader Stochastic indicator, you can not see a different timeframe on the current timeframe chart. This FRZ MTF Stochastic indicator can show you the Stochastic of any higher timeframe on any lower timeframe chart. This can be quite useful for those who use multi timeframe technical analysis – for example, timing entries on an M15 chart while following the H1 or H4 Stochastic.
It can also alert you when the higher timeframe %K line leaves the overbought or oversold zone.

Settings
Installation: in MetaTrader, open File > Open Data Folder, copy the .ex4 file into MQL4/Indicators (MT4) or the .ex5 file into MQL5/Indicators (MT5), restart MetaTrader, then drag the indicator from Navigator > Indicators onto your chart. The settings below appear on the indicator’s Inputs tab, numbered the same way.
Stochastic Settings
- Timeframe (default: Current) – the timeframe whose Stochastic is shown, e.g. H1 or H4 on an M15 chart. A timeframe lower than the chart’s is ignored and the chart’s own timeframe is used. Each higher-timeframe candle covers several chart candles, so the line moves in steps; the last step keeps updating until that higher-timeframe candle closes.
- %K Period (default: 5) – number of candles used to find the highest high and lowest low.
- %D Period (default: 3) – smoothing period of the %D signal line.
- Slowing (default: 3) – smoothing applied to %K.
- MA Method (default: Simple) – averaging method for %D: Simple, Exponential, Smoothed or Linear Weighted.
- Price Field (default: Close/Close) – Low/High uses the candle range; Close/Close uses closing prices only.
- Overbought Level (default: 70) – upper level line.
- Oversold Level (default: 30) – lower level line.
Alert Settings
- Alert When %K Leaves Overbought/Oversold (default: false) – when true, notifies you once when a higher-timeframe candle closes with %K crossing up through the oversold level or down through the overbought level.
- Alert Notification (default: true) – shows a MetaTrader alert popup with the details, pair and timeframe.
- Sound Notification (default: true) – plays a sound with the alert.
- Email Notification (default: false) – sends the alert by email. Set up your email account first under Tools > Options > Email.
- Phone Notification (default: false) – sends a push notification to the MetaTrader mobile app. Enter your MetaQuotes ID under Tools > Options > Notifications first.
Settings 10-13 only apply when setting 9 is switched on.
Display Settings
- %K Line Color (default: light sea green) – colour of the main %K line.
- %D Line Color (default: red) – colour of the dotted %D signal line.
- Max History Bars (default: 5000) – how many chart candles are calculated when the indicator loads. Set 0 for the full history.
